September Moon has been named as one of the bands competing in this year’s Ranch Factor. This “Battle of the Bands” tournament, hosted by 95.9 The Ranch, will be held at Railhead Smokehouse in Willow Park every Tuesday night. September Moon will have their first shot at being “the next big thing in Texas Music” on August 13.
Filming for the music video of September Moon’s single Abilene continued today in Blum, Texas. The band is working with Pete Miller Music and Jagg Pette Media, both based out of Dallas-Fort Worth. Fans were invited to star as “extras” last week in a live shoot at the Thirsty Armadillo in the Fort Worth Stockyards. The video is expected to debut at the beginning of June.
Lead vocalists Katherine Rublein and Daniel Brown have confirmed a wedding date for July 2019. The pair, along with close family and friends, will travel to Florida for a destination wedding and brief honeymoon. Rubein and Brown got engaged in April 2018 during a live show at the Texas Musician’s Museum in Irving, TX.
September Moon was invited to play at the The Outlaw Roadshow at SXSW this week. This is the full band’s first appearance at the Austin, Texas, music festival. The traveling music showcase was hosted at Stiles Stitch BBQ.

Talented drummer Marcus Mirelez joined September Moon earlier this month. Mirelez previously played in a number of other Dallas-Fort Worth bands, most notably Hello Jami. This pop/punk band was also a launching point for another popular local artist, singer and guitarist West Albaladejo of Adam Marie.
Katherine Rublein and Daniel Brown of September Moon were selected as one the top 10 couples in Destify’s Destination Wedding Contest. Their entry video featured the song “Mexico” from EP “Float Away,” and the couple shared how their love of music brought them – and the band – together. Although the couple didn’t win the $30,000 prize, their video received over 2,000 views in just a few weeks.
